The Friends of the Preston Library With Support from the Dean's Academic Speakers Fund presents Fall Program: "Controversial Canines" featuring Bronwen Dickey and John Lane. Pit Bull, by journalist Bronwen Dickey, was lauded by the late Pat Conroy: "I spent a lifetime afraid of pit bulls until I read this book." Coyote Settles the South, by essayist and poet John Lane, was described by Ron Rash as "[w]ritten with wonder, wisdom, and profound attentiveness."
