Inquiry-Based Learning: Teaching Effective Thinking Sync this Event!

Calendar / Category:  Institute / Speakers
Date:  Wed, 2 Apr 14
Time:  11:00 AM
Location:  Turman Room, Preston Library
Description:  Guided discovery methods of instruction are centered on studentsí resolving challenges on their own and presenting their results to their peers. Expected outcomes for students include their developing content skills and raising their personal standards of understanding. But beyond subject-specific skills, this experience frequently involves interesting consequences on studentsí attitudes concerning self-reliance, independent thinking, persistence, and willingness to make mistakes. An Inquiry Based Learning experience can be an important component of the education of all students.
